The issues is you are using Object Detection (Coral) for object detection. The ALPR module needs Object Detection (YOLOv5 .NET) or Object Detection (YOLOv5 6.2). I am working on a new Object Detection for Coral that will work with the ALPR module, at this time I am not sure of the release date.
You think having the YOLO module installed - but not being used - could "trick" it into working?
If not I'll just put my Tesla P4 back in until you release a Coral version of the ALPR module. And here I went and changed all my "to confirm/cancel/custom modules" for Coral...lol.
((Honestly other than power consumption, the Coral hasn't been too impressive. Detection times are 2x what the Tesla was at))

I just came across that issue in testing and literally a minute ago fixed the issue
The line should be
if not "success" in detect_plate_response or not detect_plate_response["success"]:

For CodeProject.AI, I can choose between two similarly-priced cards: RTX 4060 and RTX A4000. I know they are generally priced differently, however I have a good source for A4000 cards at around $370.
I am strictly looking at performance while performing object recgnition, not power consumption.
Which one would you pick if they had the same price?
The RTX A4000 will be a little faster. Also would be a good GPU if you want to train some AI modules
I am in the market for an A4000 card. Is your source a public place I may purchase one at?
Thank you!

It's a private individual financially recovering after a failed AI startup
He has 5x cards left. They are not new, but not overly used either.
I will buy one from him next month.

I'm looking for a way to set BI or CPAI to not process a section of the camera view. My wife put some decorations on our porch, and when there is motion, CPAI correctly detects that Santa is person shaped. I have tried everything I can think of to block out the affected area, but aside from removing the decoration, I can't find a way to prevent the false (albeit correct) detections.
Any ideas?

I believe the way this is supposed to work is to go into your Camera Settings, go to the Triggers tab, then hit Configure for Motion sensor. Your camera needs to be on to do this.
From there, under the Advanced section, hit the Edit button for Use zones and hot spot. In here you can use the cursor to paint the area you want the camera to cover for a specific zone. You want to use the cursor to make a distinction between the area where you don't want motion to be triggered, and FROM which, the object coming from that area, where motion will trigger a detection. So, for example, if your camera was facing the path from your driveway to your front door, and you only wanted motion detection triggered from the start of the walkway to the door, you would paint this area separate from the driveway, on its on zone.
For me, I had to leave Zones A and B full, not sure why. So for Zone C, I painted the area I didn't want covered. Now go back to the main Motion sensor tab, and click Edit for Object detection. And indicate how you want the detections to occur between Zones. For me, I wanted it simple. I put, B-C, so if an object is in Zone B, and moves to Zone C, it can be triggered.
Let me know how this works for you. I tested it out and it seems to be working for me this way. There are lots of posts online where people have enough trouble fiddling with zones that they give up on, and reposition the camera.
Thanks,
Sean Ewington

Apologies if this has been posted, I stuggle with the search function here.
i7-6700, no dedicated GPU.
After every semi recent update it seems that v5 and v6.2 are both running and processing looking at the logs. I only ever see 6.2 increment the counters on the status page.
So that said should both be running? Also I seem to remember reading that the .net version used to be faster on PCs without a nvidia GPU.
Just want to make sure I'm following the best practices for performance.
Thanks very much for the message. You definitely only want to run one Object Detection module at a time. And yes, the .NET detection module should have an edge on faster performance.
Thanks,
Sean Ewington

Thanks. I seem to have something wonky going with starting/stopping them from the status page. I keep seeing one or the other go from teal to gray and "lost contact". Screenshot attached.
Watching the log scrolling past though, it does look like it's only using .NET v5 now though. Also not seeing the counter increase.
I'm not sure if it's an actual problem, or just the status page not reading properly.
Cheers!

In Blue Iris Main AI setting uncheck Auto start/stop with Blue Iris. Also run a test with CodeProject.AI Explorer to check if Object Detection (YOLOv5 .NET) is working
I just checked, it was already unchecked.
Detection is working from the Web UI, and from BI..
Since messing with it earlier in stopping v5 6.2. it looks like only V5.net is running currently and what is working but the counter just isn't counting up.
Doesn't seem to be affecting anything so guessing maybe just a bug or a glitch..
Gave the PC a reboot seems like .net is still the only one running.
Guessing both of them running happened after the last time I updated code project..
When you have CodeProject.AI Dashboard open try refreshing the web page by doing CTRL+F5 to see if this fixes the counter.
Just tried that. Still doesn't count. Face processing counts up, just not .net object.
Oh well, it's still working which is the important part. 😀

I'm having an issue with modules not found on a fresh install of CodeProjectAI v2.3.3 in an Ubuntu 22.04 VM. I found the info in the README at the top of this forum, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Face module a couple times, but the error persists. I see errors in the logs models.zip that isn't found, and Pillow failing a check, but I don't know what to do with that.

Thanks very much for the detailed logs. What happens when you uninstall and re-install the Face Processing module from the CodeProject.AI Server dashboard?

I've done the uninstall/reinstall a few times, but the results are always the same, excerpts from the logs I posted in OP below.
Where does the virtual environment live? I may get more verbose errors if I drop into it and run the pip install pillow command directly
Reinstall Errors
The second log I posted is from the reinstall of the Face Processing module. Relevant errors extracted here

Face Processing Errors
The third log I posted shows the PIL module error on trying to start the Face Processing module, which persisted through the uninstall/reinstall process. Relevant lines extracted here:

If uninstalling and reinstalling from the dashboard isn't helping, try
cd /usr/bin/codeproject.ai-server-2.3.3/modules/FaceProcessing/
bash ../../setup.sh

Turns out my VM was out of disk space. Increasing the available space has fixed the issue.
It would be nice if the error messages coming out of the install script could surface out of space errors more clearly.
